Charles-Marie-Photius Maurras (20 April 1868 – 16 November 1952) was a French author, poet, and critic. He was a leader and principal thinker of Action Française, a political movement that was monarchist, anti-parliamentarist, and counter-revolutionary, and is the main intellectual influence of National Catholicism and integral nationalism. A political theorist, a major intellectual influence in early 20th-century Europe, his “integral nationalism” anticipated some of the ideas of fascism.
