What are your thoughts on Ahmadinejad's reelection? Do you think it was legitimate? Is it good for our cause that they revolt? Personally, I think so. Even though it is an authoritarian regime, it is nonetheless a religious theocracy and an archaic one at that. Fascism cannot survive when all the power comes from Islamic mullahs.

I certainly share your disdain for theocracy. But I don't think the opposition will succeed. Ahmadinejad is not the shah, who tumbled from lack of support.

I dont think it neccessarily has to succeed but if it cripples or slows down proggress for a while it will divert money and manpower long enough for another revolt to finish it off.

Much depends on the extent of oil revenue. Also, there is a lot of potential for new developments in neighboring Iraq, and elsewhere to divert the Iranians' attention away from this.

I don't think the election was legit. Votes were counted too fast for paper ballots.

OK so Iran is not a real democracy. Why should that be a big problem for us? Laughing A theocracy may be, but I'm not complaining if the "popular voice" was stifled.

It's an archaic dictatorship based on a religion. You of all people should realise this.

I am sure he won but I think the elections were rigged to ensure the resluts were going go there way.

I just hope NATO dosent "liberate" Iran. It has no right to decide what goverment is best for Iran.

It would be an extremely costly, stupid move.
